
The religions which established premises within our parish of Blackwell, were The Church of England, and Methodists. Our site documents as best we can their histories, but also touches on Non Conformists other than Methodists.
Through the centuries, the Church of England has moved away from the Church of Rome and back again depending upon who sat in the throne of England, but the practices within the churches changed very little. Those who chose to object to what they considered the rigidity of worship of the Church of England became known as Non Conformists or Dissenters; these believers held many varying opinions, branching off to become Methodists, Baptists, Unitarians, Quakers etc.,
